Spread the love

If you know me you know I love restaurants. Well…some of them anyway, but luckily this post is about one that I do love. I discovered Inamo Pan-Asian restaurant in St James a few  years ago at one of their sushi and sake masterclasses and have been a fan ever since (see my 2013 post here!). Their quirk, besides their food (which is great), is their interactive menu ordering system – diners place their orders from a digital menu, projected down onto the table. It's all rather futuristic and cool. I've been a fan since.

SO… I was invited to work with them for an exclusive blogger dish for their VERY exciting new restaurant, launching in Covent Garden this month,  first of all I was flattered but second of all…I was in with bells on. Obviously.

Why you should be excited too? I've designed a dish for their new menu (!!!) that'll run all the way through the month of February for diners to order! You'll be able to spot it – it'll have my big grinning face next to it along with my site details.
Spiced Pork Belly with a Pork and Honey Sauce, Asian Pear Slaw & Chinese Kale
My dish: Pork is the King of all meats and there’s nothing sexier than a big old portion of crackling, so when I was planning the dish, pork belly was always going to feature. Chuck in a rich, unctuous glaze punctuated with chilli, a fresh herb coleslaw and Chinese Kale, and, for me, you’ve got yourself a rather nice dish and one I hope you’ll all go and enjoy!
See me cook my dish here!
It's had a few tweeks and the presentation is WAY better now (thanks, Chef Jon) but you get the picture!

I headed into the new Inamo site today (and got a sneak preview of what it'll be like when it opens next week! Hint…it's cracking!) to cook my dish with the Head Chef Jon in their professional kitchen. What a day! I worked out the precise plating of my dish with chef and talked through the details and logistics of how it can be churned out for numbers. Then I sat with the CEO, Marketing Director, PR Team and Chef to taste my dish and have them sign off on it. I'm not afraid to admit that this was one of the more nerve wracking parts of the day but…they loved it and confirmed it for the menu!!

So….please come and support me in February by popping down and trying my dish! Do let me know what you think – good and bad, I'll always appreciate the feedback.
