With the sandals on, sunglasses out and skins exposed, it is officially summer in London.  Long gone are the days of requesting a table away from the door in fear of the cold drafts and spending the evening eating potato soup — for the next three months, The Doodle Bar is collaborating with The Grub Club to bring about a series of weekend alfresco lunches with entertainment.

It’s all happening on their dockside terrace in Battersea – beautiful open space with large yellow parasols, wooden benches and communal tables. They’ve called it a “beach”, which is a bit of a stretch but it’s as close to it as you can get in London on a warm sunny day. Each Saturday this creative bar and events space will host one of four amazing pop-ups – Mama’s Jerk Station, Constancia Argentine Grill, Crayfish Bob and the Italian Supper Club. We’re talking about finger licking spicy chicken wings, tender caramelized barbequed meats, crawfish boils with a generous amount of Cajun spice, and gorgeous little focaccia sandwiches filled with anchovy, steak and kimchi. These ticketed lunches will also feature live music, ranging from jazz to reggae to blues, along with illustrators and refreshing cocktails.

With tickets all around £35, this means a weekend brunch with food, sun, fresh air, music and cocktails.

Tickets, dates and menus can all be found on the Grub Club site.
